1) Who can visit a mental health clinic?
Anyone experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, sleep problems, or any emotional or psychological concern can visit. Mental health support is not just for severe illness — it is for anyone who wants to feel better and live well.
2) Do I have to take medicines?
Not necessarily. Many concerns can be addressed through therapy. Medicines are recommended only if needed and will always be prescribed by an outsourced psychiatrist or a hospital.
3) How long will therapy take?
Every person is different. Some feel better in a few sessions, while others may need longer-term care. Your therapist will discuss your goals and progress with you.
4) What languages are sessions available in?
Sessions are available in English, Hindi, and Marathi. Please let us know your preference when booking.
5) What happens in the first session?
Your therapist will listen to your concerns, ask some background questions, and discuss possible ways forward. You do not need to prepare anything — just come as you are.
6) Can I consult online?
Yes. We provide secure video or phone sessions as per the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines (2020). We will take your consent and verify your identity before starting an online session.
7) What should I do in an emergency or if I feel unsafe?
If you are in crisis or have suicidal thoughts: Dial Tele-MANAS Helpline 14416 for free, 24/7 support.
Please note that we are not a crisis helpline. We will not be liable to catering to any crisis calls.
8) How regularly will I see my counsellor and what will be the duration of each session?
The counselling sessions generally happen weekly, however, this can vary depending on your concerns and progress.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(Effective from 1 September 2025)

You (the individual signing below, referred to as "You" or "Your") acknowledge and agree that this document constitutes an agreement between You and The Embodied Minds (hereinafter referred to as "TEM," "We," or "us") regarding the services offered by TEM in relation to the Counselling sessions ("Sessions").

TEM and their Clients agree to the following:
​
1) You recognize that COUNSELING is a confidential and private process aimed at helping You address Your concerns, gain a deeper understanding of Yourself, and develop effective personal and interpersonal coping strategies. TEM is involved in the aforementioned counselling activities and employs qualified counsellors. While You seek our consultancy, this relationship between You and TEM is intended to support You in achieving Your personal goals. Counselling/Therapy entails the sharing of sensitive, personal, and private information, which may sometimes be distressing. During the Counselling / Therapy process, there may be instances of heightened anxiety or confusion. Although the results of counselling/therapy are typically positive, the degree of satisfaction for any individual cannot be predicted or guaranteed, as it is influenced by various factors.

2) CONFIDENTIALITY:
All communications with the Counsellor, including the scheduling of or attendance at appointments, telephone conversations, the content of Your Sessions, notes, progress in counselling, and Your records, including financial or business records, are considered confidential ("Confidential Information"). TEM mandates that Counsellors discuss their work with their supervisors periodically. Any information shared with the Supervisor/s will be treated as confidential, adhering to the same ethical standards as those applicable to the Counsellor.

3) LIMITATIONS TO CONFIDENTIALITY:
In specific circumstances, Counsellors are mandated by law to disclose information acquired during therapy/Sessions to other individuals or organizations without Your consent. In these instances, the Counsellor is not obligated to notify You of their actions. Please be aware of the following limitations to confidentiality:
a) The obligation of confidentiality does not extend to situations involving suspected abuse or neglect of children or the elderly.
b) The obligation of confidentiality does not apply in cases where there is a potential risk of harm to oneself or others.
c) A Counsellor may reveal Confidential Information in legal actions initiated by You or against You.
d) The obligation of confidentiality does not pertain to matters involving criminal proceedings, except for communications made by an individual voluntarily participating in a substance abuse program.
e) The obligation of confidentiality may not be applicable in legal proceedings that impact the parent-child relationship.
f) The obligation of confidentiality may not apply in situations involving a minor child. In such instances, the Counsellor may inform a parent, managing conservator, or guardian of a minor, with or without the minor’s consent, regarding the treatment required by or provided to the minor.
g) Confidentiality may not be upheld if we are compelled by any court order issued by a competent court or any directive from an appropriate governmental authority. In all the aforementioned cases, it is the responsibility of the Counsellors to disclose only the information necessary to effectively fulfil their duties. Your confidentiality obligation remains an ethical priority.

5) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Under no circumstances shall TEM be held liable for direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental claims, punitive or exemplary losses, damages, or expenses related to this Agreement (whether arising from contract, statute, tort (including negligence), or otherwise). The maximum liability of TEM in any situation, whether in contract, tort, misconduct, or negligence, shall be limited to 20% of the fees paid by You to TEM (Liquidated damages). However, You would remain liable to TEM in case of any loss or damage to property or person.

6) PROFESSIONAL ETHICS:
As part of the client-therapist/Counsellor ethical code, the following points should be considered:
a) A Counsellor will only acknowledge an encounter with You in a social context if You first acknowledge the Counsellor, ensuring their comfort.
b) To uphold boundaries, a Counsellor shall refrain from accepting requests from clients on any third-party or social media platforms.
c) The Counsellor will be reachable via Call/WhatsApp (according to the timings specified by the Counsellor) solely for the purpose of scheduling appointments for sessions. (Exceptions apply only in the case of a prearranged telephonic session with the client).
d) The Counsellor or TEM will not respond to calls, emails, or messages concerning Your personal issues. Such matters will only be addressed in a therapeutic environment, specifically at TEM’s clinic or during a scheduled telephonic or online session.

7) Our relationship shall be governed by the laws of India, and both parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, India. You hereby affirm that you have thoroughly read and comprehended these terms and conditions, and by utilizing or accessing the Counselling Sessions/services of TEM:
a) You signify Your understanding and acceptance of these terms, the associated risks and benefits of counselling, the nature and limitations of confidentiality, and the expectations placed upon You as a client; and
b) You grant Your consent for TEM to access the personal data it holds and to utilize Your personal and sensitive information for the purpose of providing counselling sessions, along with permission to use this data for enhancing and managing the quality of the sessions/services offered by TEM; and
c) You agree not to hold the Counsellor and/or TEM liable for any effects that may arise unexpectedly or suddenly due to any conditions, including medical or psychological conditions.

8) Our relationship shall be governed by the laws of India, and the parties involved hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, India.

You affirm that you have read and comprehended these terms and conditions thoroughly. By utilizing or accessing the counselling sessions/services provided by TEM:
a) You express your understanding and acceptance of these terms, as well as the associated risks and benefits of counselling, the nature and boundaries of confidentiality, and the expectations placed upon you as a client; and
b) You grant your consent for TEM to access the personal data held by it and to utilize your personal and sensitive data for the purpose of delivering counselling sessions, along with the permission to employ this data for enhancing and managing the quality of the sessions/services rendered by TEM; and
c) You agree not to hold the Counsellor and/or TEM liable for any outcomes that are contingent, unforeseen, or sudden, which may arise due to any conditions, including medical or psychological issues.
